DESCRIPTION
Sel Rrose is a New York City cocktail bar and oyster house. The name is a nod to Rrose Sélavy, the feminine alter ego of artist Marcel Duchamp. Duchamp's presence can also be seen in the decor inspired by early 20th century Paris. Industrial design elements pay tribute to his use of the readymade as an art object. However the bar is very much at home on its corner of Bowery and Delancey. Paying homage to the rich and lively history of the Bowery and its dance halls and oyster cellars, the atmosphere is convivial and warm. The cocktails are inspired by Duchamp's 1921 readymade perfume, Belle Haleine. The current kitchen menu features the freshest selection of oysters and a full raw bar.
