DESCRIPTION

Rí Rá Irish Pub, in Mandalay Place, epitomizes a true Irish pub experience, with a comfortable neighborhood environment where conversation flows as smoothly as Guinness ebbs in the glass. Constructed from a pub meticulously restored in Ireland then shipped to Las Vegas, it’s a hotspot for locals and visitors alike, offering an impressive line-up of live music, a comprehensive drink list and fare that defies pub standards.

Custom-made with salvaged material straight from Ireland, Rí Rá Las Vegas captures the warm pub style of 19th century Ireland. Each rescued artifact, including master centerpieces such as the 19th century bar, was carefully restored in County Wicklow, a scenic area just south of Dublin, and then shipped to Las Vegas.

Walking through the front door of Rí Rá, you will be transported back in time as you enter the front shop bar. The traditional shop bar played an important role in rural Ireland acting as the pub, local store, post-office and community gathering point. The shop bar at Rí Rá is a fine authentic example, which started life in the 1880’s as Foley’s in Timoleague, West Cork. Foley’s has particular significance to Rí Rá as it was in Ciaran Sheehan’s family for generations. Ciaran’s grandfather rebuilt the pub in 1921 when it was burnt down during the Irish civil war. Ciaran’s mother owned the pub at one stage and his aunt was the last landlady in Foley’s. Ciaran has lovingly restored the bar, which played an important role in his personal family history. Foley’s customers were known to be fond of a bet so what better place to move the bar to than Las Vegas.

To complete the shop bar and consistent with the pastime of its regulars, Ciaran sourced the original ceiling and walls from the Jockeys Room of the renowned Curragh Racecourse in Kildare. As you enjoy your pint you can think of the countless occasions that were marked in Foley’s and the roll call of famous jockeys that prepared for the big event in this special place. Ciaran topped the shop bar off with an original etched cut glass window and snug from Mick Collins pub in Redcross, County Wicklow, circa 1900. Collins bar was known for its brawls and it’s a wonder that the etched glass lasted 100 years unscathed!

When you pass through Foley’s Shop Bar, you enter an authentic Victorian Bar, crafted in the warm pub style of 19th century Dublin and custom-made with salvaged material straight from Ireland. In pride of place is an original statue of St Patrick. Weighing 500lbs, the statue is made from carved plaster, a technique that was popular around 1850-1880. St Patrick is housed in Victorian paneling salvaged from a Northern Ireland bank and the beautiful Victorian bar itself complete with the original ceiling medallions, Victorian floor and black Kilkenny limestone counter.

A salvaged Georgian archway leads from the Victorian bar into the Whiskey Bar. Central in the Whiskey bar is the original glazed jewelers cabinet, circa 1910, restored mahogany paneling from a bank and the oak floor which actually came from an old whiskey distillery, creating the perfect ambiance to consider and enjoy the variety of different whiskeys available.

Leaving the Whiskey bar and entering the Music Room at Rí Rá, there is a noticeable change from the cozy to the grand exciting ambiance of the theatre. Originally built in 1880, the gorgeous bar has been beautifully restored to create the Music Room and includes salvage artifacts such as the 1890 cherry floor and elements from the original Olympia Theatre in Dublin.
